 My Approach

Therapy begins with relationship. My joy is to provide a safe space for all my clients to feel known.

I believe we were created to heal, and every person has a unique path to get there. Because therapy isn’t one size fits all, my approach is collaborative. Whatever you are going through, you don’t have to walk through it alone. We can journey together and discover what healing means for you.

I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including CBT, EMDR, CPT, and art therapy to support adults and college students with anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other kinds of struggles.

I’m a practicing Christian and love to support others in finding Christ-centered healing, but I’ve also worked with people from other faiths and those who don’t identify with any faith, always respecting their unique perspectives.

Therapeutic Techniques

  • Traumatic memories can feel frozen in time, coloring the present with fear, shame, or grief. EMDR is a research-backed approach that uses gentle, rhythmic eye movements or tapping to help your brain process traumatic memories and situate them in your larger story. You remain in full control of the pace; my role is to provide a calm and safe space where difficult scenes can be encountered and processed.

  • After trauma, the mind often writes harsh scripts—I’m to blame, the world is not safe, everyone has abandoned me. CPT helps you examine those stuck points, test them against truth, and re-author your inner narrative. Together we hold each belief up to research-backed practices, replacing distortion with clarity and compassion. As faulty lenses shift, clients frequently report lighter burdens, deeper trust, and renewed purpose.

  • Thoughts shape feelings, and feelings shape choices. CBT teaches practical skills for noticing unhelpful thought patterns, challenging them, and choosing true and helpful alternatives. Whether you’re battling anxiety’s “what-ifs” or depression’s “nothing will ever change,” we’ll trace the thought-emotion-behavior cycle and find healing together. Over time, new habits of thinking become second nature.

  • Sometimes words fall short, but color, texture, and image can speak the soul’s language. Art therapy offers creative exercises—painting, collage, even simple sketching—that bypass verbal walls and reveal deeper emotions. You don’t need artistic talent; you need curiosity and a willingness to explore. As we create, we reflect on what emerges as we re-imagine your story. The process is playful, meaningful, and often surprisingly insightful, making room for healing that engages both heart and hands.

Therapeutic Approach

Person-Centered

My focus is on the whole person in the context of their story, relationships, struggles, aspirations, and unique perspective. We’ll work together to learn more about who you are and what you need to heal.

Faith-Based

I have walked alongside many Christians who want their faith to guide their healing. As a practicing Christian, I’m happy to support your faith journey — and I also gladly support those from other faiths or secular backgrounds.

Trauma-Informed

I approach therapy with an understanding of how past wounds and overwhelming experiences can shape your present. Together, we’ll create a space that feels safe and supportive to approach any trauma with great care.
